La investigación del grupo abarca una amplia gama de actividades interdisciplinares basadas siempre en un enfoque desde el punto de vista de la Ciencia y Tecnología de Materiales, con un gran número de colaboradores nacionales e internacionales. Más específicamente, los temas de investigación de los últimos cinco años comprenden las siguientes líneas.
Líneas de investigación
- Desarrollo e implementación de electrodos capacitivos para extracción de energía por gradiente de salinidad (energía azul) y desionización capacitiva
- Diseño y construcción de amortiguadores magnetorreológicos
- Fenómenos electrocinéticos y espectroscopia de birrefringencia eléctrica
- Manipulación de micro y nanopartículas mediante trampas ópticas y de iones
- Preparación y caracterización mecánica de andamios bioactivos para ingeniería de tejidos
- Reología de fluidos sensibles al campo (ferrofluidos, fluidos electrorreológicos y fluidos magnetorreológicos)
- Síntesis y evaluación de vehículos de transporte de fármacos basados en nanopartículas y nanomateriales para hipertermia magnética
